Decoupage stool

I bought this stool:

It has such a great shape and is the perfect height but it had been treated really badly and was not looking very happy. I bought it with the idea of trying out a bit of "furniture decoupage". Miss 2 and I went in search of the perfect paper, and I couldn't find anything I thought would work. Luckily I had Miss 2 with me as she latched on to a pack of black and red tissues and insisted that "her stool" was to be covered in them.

So here it is:

Decoupage is my new best friend! I found it so relaxing and the end result is stunning. The pictures really don't do it any justice!

Bags

After looking everywhere for the perfect bag I decided I had to make one. I wanted something that would hold nappies, wipes, water bottle etc. It had to be easy to carry when I'm carrying baby and it had to be something I wouldn't worry about if it got dumped on the ground at the park or the lake. I had some printed canvas that was just begging to be made in to something. So here it is:

The photo doesn't show it at all well, but its a lovely duck egg blue and I lined it with some calico. I made the strap in two pieces and knotted them together. It was such a success I decided to make another one out of a piece of retro striped material. I love them both but the retro stripes has become my new bag. This one is destined for someone else :)
